A 59-year-old man was struck and killed early Wednesday on Tucson's southeast side, police say.
Daniel Joseph Vigil was struck just before 5 a.m. as he tried to cross South Kolb Road, about 280 feet north of East Valencia Road, Tucson police said in a news release.
Vigil was first struck by a 2016 Hyundai Tucson and then a 2020 Toyota Camry. Both drivers were traveling south in the right turn lane of Kolb, the release said.
Both drivers stayed at the crash scene and neither was impaired, police said. No charges or citations have been issued.
Mid-block crossing by Vigil is a major factor in the ongoing investigation of the crash, the release said.
