The Mulberry Fire, which is burning 8 miles southeast of Vail, expanded to 1,750 acres with 45 percent containment as of 5 p.m. Sunday evening, according to an update from the ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥Â Department of Forestry and Fire Management. Â
More than 200 personnel have been assigned to the fire from the ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ Department of Forestry and Fire, the Bureau of Land Management, the US Forest Service. Multiple aviation resources have been tapped, including six air tankers, the update said.Â
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department initially evacuated residents along milepost 52 of ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ 83, but the evacuation notice has since been lifted.Â
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.Â
