If there was an ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ state championship in the IFL, the Tucson Sugar Skulls won it Saturday night against the Northern ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ Wranglers.
The Sugar Skulls routed Northern ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ 59-38 at Tucson Arena on a Saturday, a week after Tucson edged the ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ Rattlers in triple-overtime fashion.
The Sugar Skulls have won the regular-season series against both the Wranglers and Rattlers for the first time in franchise history. Tucson is 4-1 against its in-state counterparts this season.

Sugar Skulls’ quarterback Jorge Reyna (11) hands off the ball to a couple of fans after his two-point conversion run during the fourth quarter against San Antonio on May 31, 2025, in Tucson.
Up next: Tucson (5-6) hosts the Vegas Knight Hawks (7-5) on Sunday at 3:05 p.m. Vegas has former ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ quarterback Jayden de Laura and former UA defensive lineman signee Adam Plant, a 6-6, 270-pound defensive lineman, who played collegiately at TCU and UNLV.
Tucson has five games remaining in the regular season and is 1.5 games out of fourth place in the IFL Western Conference standings. A top-four finish would put the Sugar Skulls in the IFL playoffs. Tucson could conceivably finish second in the Western Conference standings.
