The National Weather Service in Tucson is warning of thunderstorms and flash floods Wednesday and Thursday before the region dries back up in time for Independence Day.

“We might see instinces of flash flooding tomorrow and Thursday, but looking into Thursday and Friday things will start to dry out a bit,†said forecaster Dalton Van Statten.

Storm chances will decrease to 15% to 30% Friday through Sunday. Thunderstorms are most likely to occur south of Tucson, the weather service said.
Friday’s predicted high is 97 degrees, Saturday’s is 100 degrees and Sunday’s is 104 degrees.
