One person was killed and a DEA agent was wounded while authorities were serving a search warrant at a house on Tucson’s south side Thursday morning.
Details remain sparse in the shooting that occurred about 11:20 a.m. in a neighborhood near South Kino Parkway and East 36th Street, close to Pueblo Gardens Park.

The wounded agent from the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Special Response Team was assisting the gang unit from the ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ Department of Public Safety serve a search warrant at a house in the 2200 block of South Forgeus Avenue when the shooting occurred, Raul Garcia, a spokesman for the DPS said in a news release.
The search was part of an ongoing criminal investigation, the release said.
An agent was struck when gunfire erupted as the house was entered, the release said.

One person in the house was killed. No details about the person was released.
Law enforcement from multiple local, state and federal agencies swarmed the neighborhood immediately after the shooting. A law enforcement helicopter circled the neighborhood and several streets surrounding the park were closed to traffic for hours.
The ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ Department of Public Safety is the lead agency investigating the shooting.
No details about the larger investigation that prompted the search was released Thursday.
