In December 2024, the unit decided to change things up and chose a progressive dinner rather than having dinner and dancing at the SaddleBrooke ballroom. More than 50 residents attended the event, which began with appetizers at the Jim and Sandy Seppala home. The home was beautifully decorated for the holidays and featured a wooden tree made by Jim’s great-grandfather.
The group then progressed to Monique Salviejo’s home for two types of chili served with homemade cornbread. Monique’s home featured white feathers and was a sight to behold.
Lastly, the group moved next door to Sandy and Doug Miller’s home for dessert and Irish coffee. The unit was treated to music by neighbor and guitarist/vocalist Dave Wemmer.
Based on initial feedback, the progressive dinner may become a new holiday tradition in Unit 29.
