On Tuesday night ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ women’s basketball senior forward Isis Beh will run onto the court at McKale Center for likely the last time, capping a long, well-traveled career and playing her best basketball.
Beh, who is from Murray, Utah, started her career at UNLV where she earned Mountain West All-Freshman team honors. Then she went to Salt Lake City Community College but didn’t compete as the NJCAA dealt with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Then she transferred to West Virginia and redshirted. Her junior year of eligibility she averaged 3.1 points and 2.1 rebounds per game for the Mountaineers.
Last season she started three games for the ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥, averaging 4.9 points and 3.9 rebounds per game.
“She went from junior college to UNLV to West Virginia to here and she was always that role player,†said UA head coach Adia Barnes. “For all the young girls who say, ‘You can’t do it or it’s not possible,’ she is a testament, someone who fought, who found a way, found an edge and finally had someone that believes in her. She’s capable of doing some special things.â€

Big dance bid
ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ closes out the regular season with a couple of must wins if they hope to make the NCAA tournament.
After Texas Tech, the ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ travel to ASU (9-19, 3-13). If the UA wins both and a game in the Big 12 tournament, which starts Mar. 5, they would reach the 20-win level and finish 10-8 in the Big 12.
Generally, Big 12 teams with at least a .500 record make the NCAA tournament.
UA’s NET ranking as of Monday morning is 59th. The ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ are 1-7 against quad 1, 1-3 against quad 2, 4-2 against quad 3 and 11-0 against quad 4.

The ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ and Red Raiders both played in the Border Conference together, that was until 1952 when TT left for the Southwest Conference. UA’s first women’s basketball season was 1972-73.
