The ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ baseball program hasn’t played a game in the Big 12 yet, but the ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ already have earned the respect of the league’s coaches.
ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ has been picked to finish second in the Big 12 in the preseason coaches poll released Thursday.

Oklahoma State landed in the top spot and received nine first-place votes. ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ got four first-place votes.
TCU, picked to finish third, got one first-place vote. (Fourteen of the Big 12’s 16 teams play varsity baseball.)
UA juniors Brendan Summerhill and Mason White also received recognition from the league, claiming spots on the preseason All-Big 12 Team.
Summerhill, an outfielder, earned All-Pac-12 honors last year after batting .324 with eight home runs and 32 total extra-base hits. White, a shortstop, also made the All-Pac-12 Team last year after leading the ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ with 19 home runs and 65 RBIs.

ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ will host its “Meet the Team†scrimmage and autograph session Feb. 8. The ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ open the season Feb. 14 against Ole Miss in the Shriners Children’s College Showdown in Arlington, Texas.
ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥â€™s home opener is Feb. 18 vs. New Mexico at 2 p.m. The ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥â€™ first Big 12 series is against Cincinnati from March 14-16 at Hi Corbett Field.
The coaches picked the Bearcats to finish 10th in the Big 12.
