There's one present and many former Phoenix Suns on a list of NBA players in new places.
ESPN ranked 14 new faces on new teams this upcoming 2025-26 season, with six of them either being current or former Suns players. Here's how those players with Phoenix ties rank on the list.
1. Kevin Durant (Houston Rockets)
Durant spent the last two full seasons in Phoenix after the Suns acquired him in a blockbuster deal before the 2023 trade deadline. The future first-ballot Hall of Famer averaged 26.8 points in Phoenix, but the Suns only won one playoff series during his time there and finished 36-46 last season.
The Suns traded him to Houston before the 2025 draft and landed Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks and the 10th overall pick in the 2025 draft, who ended up being 7-footer Khaman Maluach, the 18-year-old freshman out of Duke.

3. Cam Johnson (Denver Nuggets)
The Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder, four first-round picks — and Johnson — to Brooklyn for Durant in 2023. All three helped the Suns reach the 2021 finals with Johnson serving as a sixth man and a knockdown 3-point shooter.
Now he’s in Denver after a deal that sent Michael Porter Jr. to the Nets. With a new home, Johnson is back on a championship contender led by three-time MVP Nikola Jokic.
New York Knicks coach Mike Brown is next on the list at fourth as he’s replaced Tom Thibodeau, who was fired after coaching the Knicks to the Eastern Conference finals last season.
5. Deandre Ayton (Los Angeles Lakers)

Portland Trail Blazers center Deandre Ayton (2) and Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic (15) in the second half, Feb. 10, 2025, in Denver.Â
The Suns drafted him No. 1 overall out of ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ in 2018. He became a key piece to Phoenix reaching the 2021 finals, but his inconsistency, along with a falling out with key franchise pieces, led to the Suns trading him to Portland before 2023 training camp in a three-team deal that brought Jusuf Nurkic to Phoenix.
The Blazers eventually bought Ayton out, and now he’s with Luka Doncic, LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. Crazy.
Myles Turner, Kristaps Porzingis, Cooper Flagg and Norman Powell are ranked sixth through ninth, respectively. Turner is now with the Milwaukee Bucks after helping the Indiana Pacers reach the 2025 finals, and Porzingis has a new home with the Atlanta Hawks after winning a championship with the Boston Celtics.
Flagg starts his rookie year with the Dallas Mavericks as the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 draft, and Powell is in Miami after a career year with the Los Angeles Clippers.
10. Jalen Green (Phoenix Suns)
Part of the Durant trade, Green is now paired up with Devin Booker in the backcourt. Curious to see how those two share the ball as neither one are true point guards, but Green has playmaker skills as does Booker, who averaged a career-high 7.1 assists last season.
Green averaged 20.8 points in his four seasons in Houston — and has been durable. The second overall pick in the 2021 draft played all 82 games the past two regular seasons.
11. Ty Jerome (Memphis Grizzlies)
Jerome only played one season in Phoenix, his rookie year, and battled injuries. The Suns dealt him to Oklahoma City in landing Chris Paul and reached the finals that same season.
After having good and bad stretches his next four seasons, Jerome had a career year last season in Cleveland with new Suns coach Jordan Ott working as an assistant. Jerome averaged 12.3 points on 51.6% shooting, connecting on 43.9% of his 3s, for the No. 1 seed in the East.
Now he’s in Memphis teaming up with Ja Morant.
12. Bradley Beal (Los Angeles Clippers)
Phoenix moved Chris Paul to acquire Beal from the Washington Wizards going into the 2023-24 season to create a Big 3. The Suns went 45-33 in games Booker, Durant and Beal played, but they never won a playoff series with those three and suffered their first losing season since 2019-20 last season.
Beal played a total of 106 games in his two seasons in Phoenix. The Suns tried to trade Beal, who had a no-trade clause, but ended up buying him out. Beal is now with Kawhi Leonard, James Harden and the Los Angeles Clippers.
Rookies Dylan Harper (San Antonio Spurs) and VJ Edgecombe (Philadelphia 76ers) round out the rankings.
