The son of a 72-year-old man reported missing late last month on Tucson's southwest side has been arrested on suspicion of abuse and endangerment, authorities say.
Sitharamanjaneyulu Potiny was reported missing Aug. 29, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said Thursday in a news release.
After searching for the man for days, investigators say they established probable cause to arrest his 42-year-old son, Vamsi Potiny. He was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of one count each of vulnerable adult abuse and endangerment, the release said.
The elder Potiny is still considered a missing person.
He was reportedly last seen in the area of the 6000 block of West Jadewood Lane, southwest of the city near West Valencia Road and South Camino Verde. He wore a blue shirt and blue pants, the release said.
